Objective of event:
  • The briefing aimed to provide updates on current policies, compliance requirements, and employers' responsibilities in the employment of foreign workers.
  • It also sought to assist FMM Johor members in gaining a clearer understanding of labour law requirements and the enforcement focus of the Department of Labour
  • The session was beneficial in enhancing industry compliance and  strengthening strategic collaboration between the industry and the Johor Bahru Labour Office.
FMM Johor recently hosted a briefing by Jabatan Tenaga Kerja (JTK) Johor Bahru on the application and approval process for employing foreign workers under Section 60K of the Employment Act 1955. The session provided members with practical updates on labour compliance, employer responsibilities, and enforcement priorities. Members actively participated, raising questions on wage payment methods, verification of employment agency licences, and other foreign worker-related matters. The briefing offered a valuable platform for HR and management representative to engage directly with government authorities, clarify regulatory requirements, and strengthen collaboration between member companies and the Department of Labour.
