Ban on Heavy Vehicles on Roads during HARI RAYA 2026
FMM would like to inform members that certain categories of goods vehicles will be prohibited from using ALL ROADS in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak for FOUR DAYS, namely on March 19–20, 2026 and March 28–29, 2026, in conjunction with the HARI RAYA Festival 2026 celebrations, as announced by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) through the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Malaysia.
This restriction is part of the Government’sroad safety initiative implemented by the Ministry of Transport (MOT) through the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Malaysia to ensure smoother traffic flowand to reduce the risk of road accidents during the festive period. The categories of heavy vehicles restricted as agreed by the Road Transport Department are as follows:

1.1 Heavy lorries and tipper trucks with a laden weight exceeding 7,500 kg, low-loader trucks, pole trailers, flatbed trailers, logging trucks, wheeled heavy machinery (excluding wheeled heavy machinery, tow trucks, and tractors used for emergency and rescue operations), and tractors. 1.2 Lorries transporting cement, steel, stones, sand, soil, other construction materials, amang (tin tailings), tin ore, quarry products, and other mineral materials. |

2.1 Container lorries transporting goods (excluding container lorries transporting goods from ports or airports to industrial areas within the same state and vice versa). 2.2 Cargo lorries transporting electronic or electrical goods or industrial chemical materials from ports or airports to industrial areas within the same state and vice versa 2.3 Lorries transporting fresh oil palm fruit bunches, crude palm oil products, scrap rubber, and latex. 2.4 Empty cargo lorries. |

Please note that heavy wheeled machinery, mobile cranes or tow trucks carrying outemergency work AND other vehicles carrying goods that are not listed in any ofthe categories ARE ALLOWED to operate during this prohibition period.
Members arefurther informed that, with effect from 2026, all applications for exemption from the Goods Vehicle Driving Ban (Roadban) must be submitted fully throughthe Road Ban Exemption (RBEx) system via the following portal:
Accordingly, any applications submitted by letter or through methods other than the RBExsystem will not be processed or entertained.
