NEW REQUIREMENTS IMPORTATION OF REFINED WHITE SUGAR INCLUDING REFINED SUGAR LABELLED AS CRYSTAL SUGAR AND WHITE SUGAR

Members are informed that the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has introduced new requirements for the importation of refined white sugar including white sugar and crystal sugar. These requirements will take effect from April 15, 2026. 

The updated regulations cover product specifications, supporting documentation and permit application procedures. Please refer to Appendix B for more details. An interim period will also apply for certain import activities before the effective date.

Attached for members’ reference is the Letter from KPDN on the announcement dated February 5, 2026, on the revision.

Members are advised to take note of this update and make the necessary early preparations to ensure compliance with these new requirements for the smooth continuation of operations in the future.
