FMM PRESS STATEMENT: A Bold New Identity: FMM Rebrands to Represent the Future of Malaysian Manufacturing
August 20, 2025
Head Office, KL
Kuala Lumpur, August 20, 2025 – The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), at its 57th Anniversary Dinner on August 18, 2025, unveiled its refreshed identity with the introduction of a rebranded logo. This marks a significant milestone following FMM’s name change in March 2025, underscoring FMM’s evolution and renewed purpose. With its broadened scope to encompass the entire manufacturing supply chain, FMM reaffirms its commitment to championing the growth and development of Malaysia’s manufacturing sector.
The unveiling of the new logo was officiated in a special ceremony during the 57th Anniversary Dinner by YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, and YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources, who graced the occasion as Special Guests, together with FMM President Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai and FMM President Emeritus, Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai.
The rebranding centres on a newly designed FMM wordmark, which represents a seamless fusion of cutting-edge innovation and deep industry expertise, positioning FMM as the essential bridge between manufacturing excellence and industrial success.
Rendered in bold uppercase lettering, the wordmark conveys clarity, strength, and agility – Bold. Unified. Purposeful. Each element carries a distinct meaning:
- The “F” stands for Federation, symbolising FMM’s unifying role across the manufacturing landscape.
- The “M” represents Malaysian Manufacturing, highlighting both national identity and industrial excellence.
- The bridge block signifies FMM’s pivotal role in fostering strategic connections between manufacturers, innovators, and stakeholders across the ecosystem.

The new logo embodies the strength FMM represents today while reflecting the future it seeks to shape. It is a stronger identity with a clearer purpose, a true expression of everything FMM stands for: bridging industry with opportunity, policy with progress, and innovation with impact.
FMM’s rebranding from “Manufacturers” to “Manufacturing” signifies more than just a name change. It signals the Federation’s expanded role as a platform for digital enablers, sustainability champions, and ecosystem builders in a connected global economy.
Looking ahead, FMM is committed to strengthening industrial linkages across supply chains, advancing a digital-first industrial policy, and deepening regional engagement within ASEAN, RCEP and beyond. At the same time, the Federation will continue to champion a just and inclusive green transition, particularly for SMEs, while driving innovation and R&D to position Malaysian industries for long-term global competitiveness.
But beyond policies, FMM underscores that the future of manufacturing must be built on people. It will not be shaped by machines alone, but by bold minds, diverse skill sets, and knowledge-driven innovation. In the face of global headwinds, from the renewed tariff measures announced by President Trump to shifts in global trade, the 13th Malaysia Plan charts a course for resilience and growth. Strengthening TVET and talent development will therefore be critical to preparing the workforce to seize new opportunities and navigate the challenges ahead, with the Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) serving as the private-sector-driven unified platform. To young leaders, the message is clear - manufacturing is not a sunset sector, but an evolving opportunity!
FMM is built on industry, driven by purpose, and dedicated to shaping the future of Malaysian manufacturing.
