Updates on Safeguard Investigation on Imports of Cold Rolled Coil, Galvanised Steel and Pre-painted Steel by Egypt

Reference is made to the notification of the safeguard investigation on imports of Cold Rolled Coil (CRC), Galvanised Steel(HDG/GI), and Pre-painted Steel (PPGI) by Egypt on September 10, 2025, the products classified under the Harmonised System (HS)codes 720915, 720916, 720917, 720918, 720925, 720926, 720927, 720928, 720990,721123, 721129, 721190, 722692, 721041, 721049, 721230, 721250, 722592, 722699,721070, 721090, 721240, 721260, and 722599.

On March 3, 2026, the Government of Egypt published a decision to impose safeguard measures on imports of Cold Rolled Coil (CRC), Galvanised Steel (HDG/GI), and Pre-painted Steel (PPGI).

The Authority has proposed to impose definitive safeguard measures until September 13, 2028, as follows:
