RE-REGISTRATION OF STEAM BOILER COMPETENCY CERTIFICATES IN MyKKP BEFORE NOVEMBER 30, 2026

Dear FMM Members in Selangor,

We wish to bring to your attention the notification received from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Selangor regarding the re-registration and migration of competency certificates for Steam Boiler Engineers and Steam Boiler Operators into the MyKKP system.

DOSH Selangor, through its letter dated August 13, 2026 (Ref: JKKP SL 100-1/2 Jld.3 (28), informed that under the Guidelines for Registration and Renewal of Competent Persons, all holders of physical competency certificate books for Steam Boiler Engineers and Steam Boiler Operators are required to complete the re-registration notification and migrate their records into the MyKKP system.

DOSH has extended the deadline for the re-registration/replacement of physical competency certificate books with the MyKKP Registration Certificate Slip until November 30, 2026. The extension is intended to allow factory management, employers and Competent Persons (OK) sufficient time to complete the registration process before full enforcement is implemented.

Action Required by Members

FMM members operating steam boiler machinery are advised to take note of the following requirements and take the necessary action:

1. Check the Status of Competent Persons (OK)

Members are advised to verify the approval/registration status of their Steam Boiler Operators and Steam Boiler Engineers through the official MyKKP portal:

DOSH Selangor has instructed companies to verify the registration status of their relevant boiler personnel through this facility.

2. Submission of Steam Boiler Operator Information

Where a Steam Boiler Operator has not been registered or the operator’s name cannot be found in the MyKKP system, the company/operator is required to submit the relevant information immediately through the Google Form provided by DOSH Selangor:

3. Appeal for Re-Registration Notification

Members are required to submit an appeal for the re-registration notification/replacement of the physical competency certificate into the MyKKP system to the Director General of DOSH via email at projkkp@mohr.gov.my as soon as possible.

DOSH has informed that manual applications/updates or the use of physical competency certificate books will no longer be accepted after the stipulated deadline.

Important Deadline

Members are strongly advised to complete the necessary verification, submission and re-registration process before November 30, 2026, to ensure compliance with DOSH requirements before full enforcement is implemented.
