Job Description

Engineering Department is responsible for the setting-up and transfer of new production lines, improvement of the production processes for existing and new products in order to achieve cost efficiency
Preliminary productions for new products /transferred products from SEJ are coordinated by the Engineering Department. The Department performs new product testing and production process trial run to ensure the respective testing processes complied with Soshin’s standards as well as the international ISO standards. Then, the Department customizes the production process flows provided by SEJ to suit the local production process requirements. In the event that there is production failure during the trial run, the cost incurred will be borne by SEJ.
Additionally, the Engineering Department customizes and reviews the product designs provided by SEJ and third-party customers prior to mass production. The customization of product designs (simple modification process) is carried out based on SEJ or customer’s requirements. The team updates the product specifications via the ERP system according to the revised or modified product designs.
The Engineering Department is involved in the preparation of product costing. The product costing is prepared based on the Bill of Materials (“BOM”) list that is set by the Department. The Department monitors the materials price offered by the suppliers and updates the costing sheet accordingly if there are any price revisions. Subsequently, the costing sheet is forwarded to the Sales Department to determine the selling price to customers.

Qualification and Required Skills

Degree in electrical & electronics or equivalent.
Minimum 3 ~5 years working experience.
Experience in the manufacturing field is an added advantage.
Good communication, negotiation, management skills and sales knowledge (experience)
Knowledge and experience in sales is preferred.
Able to travel overseas.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay (required), able to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
Able to communicate with other departments to discuss any issues raised.
