Head Office, KL

FMM President Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok led the FMM Industry–Academia Member Engagement series on October 19, 2026, bringing together 21 representatives at FMM Negeri Sembilan and 17 at FMM Melaka to explore practical collaborations between manufacturers and universities.

Representatives from FMM's university partners, Universiti Malaya, HELP University, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and UCSI University participated in both sessions, with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Monash University Malaysia also joining the Negeri Sembilan session. The university representatives shared opportunities for joint applied research, commercialisation, technical consultancy and access to specialist testing facilities, alongside training, internships and industry projects to strengthen the talent pipeline. Their presentations highlighted how expertise in AI, data analytics, automation, smart manufacturing and sustainable technologies can help manufacturers address operational challenges, improve productivity and develop new capabilities.

Through the FMM Industry–Academia Committee, FMM aims to translate these connections into practical projects and sustained partnerships that support members’ competitiveness and growth.
