Courtesy Meeting with H.E. Dato' Shazryll Zahiran, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Bahrain to FMM on July 20, 2026

FMM was honoured to welcome H.E. Dato' Shazryll Zahiran, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, today for a courtesy meeting to discuss Bahrain's business landscape and identify opportunities to further strengthen economic and commercial linkages between Malaysia and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting was led by FMM President Mr. Jacob Lee Chor Kok and attended by FMM Deputy President Dato' Andrew Goh Boon Kim, Vice-Presidents Datuk Noraini Sultan and Dato' Palaniappan Joseph, Chairman of the FMM Selangor-Kuala Lumpur Branch Dr. Helena Eian Yeut Lan, and FMM Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr. Yeoh Oon Tean.

During the discussion, H.E. Dato' Shazryll shared valuable insights into Bahrain's economic landscape, business-friendly environment and strategic position as a gateway to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. He also highlighted the established presence of Malaysian products in Bahrain, reflecting the growing recognition and confidence in Malaysian businesses within the Kingdom.

The meeting also explored how FMM can play a greater role in supporting Malaysian manufacturers, particularly SMEs, in exploring opportunities in Bahrain through business networking, market linkages and strategic partnerships. Both sides exchanged views on the importance of fostering closer engagement between FMM and the Embassy of Malaysia in Bahrain to facilitate stronger industry connections and enhance awareness of business opportunities available in the Kingdom.

Recognising that meaningful partnerships are built through continuous engagement, both sides viewed today's meeting as an important first step towards developing closer collaboration. FMM looks forward to working with the Embassy of Malaysia in Bahrain to explore practical initiatives that will support Malaysian manufacturers in expanding their presence in Bahrain and the wider GCC region.
