FMM Industry–Academia Committee (FMM IAC) Meeting

The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) convened the inaugural meeting of the FMM Industry–Academia Committee (FMM IAC) on February 24, 2026, chaired by FMM President Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok. The meeting was attended by members of the FMM Presidential Committee and FMM Council, including Dr Helena Eian, Professor Mahendhiran Nair and Mr Tindaro Danze, together with representatives from 10 partner universities including Sunway University, University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Sains Malaysia, Monash University Malaysia, UCSI University, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Management and Science University (MSU).
The meeting marked an important milestone in strengthening industry–academia collaboration to enhance graduate employability, skills alignment and structured industry exposure, while advancing joint applied research, innovation and the development of a strong RDI talent pipeline. Discussions also focused on strengthening industry participation in curriculum development and governance, promoting knowledge exchange and thought leadership, and fostering entrepreneurship and youth development initiatives. The platform will serve as a strategic mechanism to translate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) into practical, high-impact programmes that support Malaysia’s talent, innovation and industrial competitiveness agenda.
