FMM President, Mr Jacob Lee, participated as a panelist at the REHDA Institute The CEO Series 2026, held on January 15, 2026 at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, contributing industry perspectives to the session on “ASEAN and Malaysia’s Economic Outlook 2026: Navigating Global Headwinds and Fostering Regional Resilience.” The discussion brought together leading economists and business leaders to examine regional growth prospects, investment trends, and strategies to strengthen ASEAN’s economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
Key discussion areas involving Mr Jacob Lee focused on the manufacturing sector’s competitiveness amid global supply chain realignments and rising operating costs, the critical strategies and government support needed for manufacturers to expand regionally in 2026, as well as broader issues including the impact of AI and frontier technologies, economic diversification, human capital development, and sustainability-driven FDI to support long-term resilience in Malaysia and ASEAN.
